Tim's Attendants

    Shaun Cox – Best Man

Shaun is the groom's youngest brother. They used to have Wrestlemania matches when their parents went out when they were younger (The groom was always Hulk Hogan). They played together on various sports teams, although Shaun was always the better athlete (The groom was the bench warmer). Having Shaun as Tim’s Best Man is something very special that Tim will always hold deep in his heart.
    The Cox brothers
    The Cox boys

    Al Cox – Groomsman

Al is Tim’s oldest brother. If there was a movie, book or piece of music that has influenced Tim in some way, chances are that the recommendation came from Al. So if anyone wishes to the bust the groom’s chops about his taste in music, see Al. Seriously, the groom considers himself lucky to have his big brother standing by his side on his special day.

    Mike Turner – Groomsman

Mike is Tim’s oldest friend from high school. Over 20 plus years, they have seen and done a lot together, including a play or two; closing down a bar or two and trunks of memories still to come. The groom wishes to thank Mike for always being there, especially on this, his wedding day.

    Lawrence Lesher – Groomsman

Larry is one of the groom’s closest friends in the city. In addition to their many collaborations together as actor and director, Larry has especially proven to be the most thoughtful and reliable of friends, something that the groom will always cherish.

          Chris Kateff- Groomsman

Chris is another one of the groom’s closest friends in the city. There are many highlights from the groom’s relationship with Chris, but nothing beats closing down the Shannon Pot on consecutive days during the runs of both ‘’As You Like It’’ and ‘’A Midsummer Nights’ Dream’’. The groom had many great times with Chris. Who knows what the future holds?

     Chad Barlow- Groomsman

Chad is Jamie’s brother and someone that the groom came to like immediately for his humor, energy and especially, his dedication to family. In the years to come,  the groom looks forward to building a strong bond with Chad and thanks him for being an important part of this very special day.

Hoping to win some money on the lottery ticket!

      We are getting MARRIED!!

As I sit here typing seeing this ring is on my finger, it's all becoming so real.

Tim and I have been talking about marriage for a few months now. We randomly went looking at rings on Aug 13th. I remember the date because it was the first day of our 24 Day Challenge diet. We went for a walk because we didn't want to be tempted to eat something and ended up at Zales.

I didn't have really any idea what I wanted to wear on my finger for the rest of my life. I just knew I didn't want it to be boring. :) We saw two rings I really liked. As I would get answers from the salesman, I noticed Tim on his phone texting. I thought, "What the heck? Why is he texting someone right now? How rude!" After the next question/answer, Tim started texting again. That is when I realized he was "taking notes" on his phone. I said, "Hun, he'll write down all the info you need if you don't want to text yourself information." He said, "You caught me!" How adorable is he?? I mean really!!! :)

After that day, we kept talking about stuff. And of course after seeing rings, I became super antsy. But I really didn't think he was going to propose til November or December. I was actually out to dinner with some girlfriends on Monday night. I told them that we had looked at rings and it would probably happen by the end of the year.

Our one year anniversary is September 19. Tim is in a show right now and he's had rehearsal on that day for weeks, so we decided we would celebrate at the Mets game on Friday. I had just planned to come home after work and watch the Big Brother Finale. :)

Yesterday morning, I received an email from Tim saying his rehearsal was cancelled and wanted to know if I wanted to meet him at our favorite restaurant, Cronin Phelan. It's right down the street from our apartment and we go there a lot. I didn't even think anything of it because we always seem to go there if we randomly decide to go to dinner.

I got there and got a text saying the trains were running late and he'd be there soon. Still didn't think anything of it. I got us a table on the back patio. There was hardly anyone back there. Very chill and the weather has been so nice that I couldn't resist sitting back there!

About 15 minutes later, he walked in, holding white roses and a card. The card was so sweet except he wrote a bunch of lovey dovey stuff on it but he didn't sign his name. I suppose I will always know who it's from. :)

We had dinner and a few beers. I asked for the check then he went to the bathroom. When he came back, he walked up to the table with determination.

"Can you please stand up for me?" He asked.
"Um what?" I said as I stood up slowly.
"I know we said we weren't going to give each other presents for our anniversary, but I want to give you this." He got down on his knee and said, "Will you marry me?"
"Yes, of course I will." I said as I stood there smiling and stunned. I really had no idea it was happening that night. If I did, I would not have been wearing my Rock of Ages t-shirt and my hair in a ponytail, that's for sure! HaHa!

He stood up and we kissed and hugged. That's when I started crying. I couldn't believe that he just asked me to be his wife. It's an amazing feeling. I can't really describe it. I am typing this with tears in my eyes right now. Just knowing we will be together forever makes every worry I've ever had disappear.

We eventually sat back down at our table. I was still crying. A random woman from another table came up to us and said, "Hey guys, Congratulations. I took a picture on m iphone when he went down on his knee. Give me your cell number and I'll send them to you."

I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! I thanked her over and over. That's one thing I've always wanted: a picture of a man down on his knee proposing to me. Talk about good karma!! :)

Tim went on to tell me that he told everyone he was originally going to propose at the Mets game on Friday but when his rehearsal was cancelled, he thought, I have to do it tonight. He had the ring for about 5 days already. He had the ring IN OUR APARTMENT FOR FIVE DAYS!! WHAT? lol. He had emailed my entire family, his family, and all of our close friend that he was going to do it on Friday. Then when he decided he planned on propose that night, he emailed them again. So basically everyone knew! HAHA! But now he said, He can actually enjoy the Mets game tomorrow night.

After we paid the bill, we walked home and he called his parents. I was crying happy tears the entire way home. At our place, we each called all of our family and close friends to tell them. THEN put it on Facebook. What a crazy night. I am still trying to go through all the posts to say thank you. It's such an amazing feeling.

Thanks to everyone for all the support. We really appreciate it! For now, we are going to have fun being engaged and figure out details later.

      Love,
      Soon-to-Be Mrs. Cox

It's Time That I Write Something

Given what has taken place over the last 24 hours, I felt it was time that I post something on here.

Yes, Jamie and I are engaged and it's a wonderful, amazing, feeling. Thank you to everyone for your kind words of encouragement as we made the announcement ''Facebook official'' last evening, after Jamie and I called our families and close friends.

More on how I proposed soon.

      The 39 Steps Weekend

This past weekend was fun. Traveled to Mill Burn, PA to see Tim and friends in THE 39 STEPS at Millbrook Playhouse. The show was a riot! The energy of the actors was insane! Tim and Matt played over 50 characters a piece. It was crazy!!! Very, very entertaining!!

Matt Harris, Tim Cox, Synge Maher, Chris Kateff

Also, this weekend the Barlow and the Cox parents met. Also, Tim's Uncle Mike and Aunt Kathy were there. The guys talked football and baseball. The women talked everything else. We all met in the hotel lobby then had dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. It was perfect because the restaurant is right across the street from the theater. Thanks so much to our families for coming!!
       See you in December!

Welcome to Jamie & Tim's blog

This blog is just to follow the ins and outs of us. Mostly made for our families but a kind of journal of our relationship too.

We recently moved in together. I moved into his apartment June 9th. We have revamped the place and it looks great. I'll make sure to take some pictures or video for the blog so you can see what it looks like. It's been awesome living with him. He always washing the dishes and takes out the trash. He's also started some light cooking (which I guess he hasn't ever done.) Basically grilling chicken and making stir fry. It's nice to come home to dinner every once and a while.

We found a Costco right down the street from us. We've gone twice already. It takes about 20 minutes to walk there. The first time we went we stocked up a whole cart. But now we have enough toilet paper and paper towels to last us a few months.

Tim leaves for PA on July 15 to start rehearsals for THE 39 STEPS at Millbrook Playhouse. I'm very exciting for him because this is a hilarious play, but I'm also going to miss him terribly. This will be the first time we've been away from each other for more than 4 days. He won't be back til August 5th. I'm going to be working 5 days a week while he's gone, so that's good. Also the first weekend he is gone, I'm planning on visiting my best friend Adam in Philly.

The awesome thing is I'm going to see Tim's first Saturday night show and his parents and Aunt & Uncle are coming that night too. Also, my parents and sister Haley are driving 8 hours to see the show! So the Barlow family & Cox family are meeting on July 28th! We are all staying over night at the same hotel. We are hoping to do a dinner before the show with everyone if not, then after the show. It all depends on Tim and what he wants to do since he'll have to prep for the show. I'm excited and looking forward to that weekend!

      All for now.
